Abilities	Extended Lifespan: Firebird dragons can live for up to 450 years.
	Fire Control: Valence can manipulate the temperature and intensity of existing fire within 100 yards of his physical location, from a spark to a burning building in strength.
	Firesong: Valence is deeply attuned to creatures possessing their own strong fire magic; he can 'hear' that magic calling from several miles away and hone in on a creature's location using it. He is also able to call to such creatures by sending out his own signature "song."
	Flame Creation: Valence can cause a magical flame to erupt even in very damp (but not "wet") conditions, though this is much easier in dry conditions.
	Flame Manipulation: Flames created by Valence can be manipulated into various shapes and sizes, from a match-head to as big as Valence himself.
	Fire Immunity: Valence cannot be harmed by flames of natural origin and is highly resistant to most magical flames.
	Fire Molting: Valence molts every ten years or so, losing his feathers and flames as well as his ability to fly and immolate. Each molt lasts up to a month, during which Valence usually retreats to his den while he waits to regain his full strength.
	Heat Requirement: Firebird dragons must dwell in environments that are anywhere from pleasantly warm to brilliantly hot. Valence's only true source of sustenance and vitality is heat energy; he cannot regain his strength without resting in hot, dry conditions.
	Self-Immolation: Valence can burst suddenly into extremely hot flames which extend up to 2 feet away from his body, remaining unharmed in the process.
	Spark Travel: Valence can travel to any destination regardless of distance by burning up and resparking in a new body. He is limited to four uses of this ability throughout his lifetime.
Personality	Valence found his partner Ithshacri using his Firesong, and the two have been inseparable ever since. They're not bonded bonded, but it's clear they'll be a pair for life. In any other partnership, Valence's heat requirement might be a detriment, but with Ithshacri, it's a mutually beneficial arrangement. Ithshacri's carbon-based flame is easy to fuel with common materials, and that fire is more than enough to keep Valence full of vitality no matter how cold the world around them gets. Humorously, Valence comes across as a bit of a grouch most of the time. Saying "I love you" is not his style, and nor is outwardly admitting his affections in any other way, but it's pretty easy to see that his gruff countenance softens around his partner. Valence loves seeing the best sights that the Nexus has to offer, but most of the places he's been are so damned cold compared to the den he and Ithshacri share on Saga. Even so, a breathtaking vista shared with his love does have a way of bringing out Valence's tenderness. It turns out that the warmth that blooms in one's heart can compare to literal fire, after all.
