(( Excerpt from the hatching story of Generation 13B, written by Dray ))
The last of these kits was now approaching that lavender-coloured Danachian that had been eyeing Zyanualeth so... unhealthily. Jos-see put a small, white and black-booted foot on Myahidynuth much larger one, staring up at the larger dragon. What are you looking at? the little dragon asked on a private band.
What?! Mya' asked, taken aback at being taken by surprise. Nothing! Nothing at all. Just the hatchlings. You. (Brat,) she added, only just barely to herself.
Jos-see tilted her huge ears back. "Well," she said, utilizing her little voice, "now you'll have better things to look at. Like me!"
Yeah, right, Mya' replied, but bit her tongue when Jos-see bit her toe!

Jos-see proved to be a bit of a nuisance at first. She was always prancing in front of the mirror, commenting on how exquisite she looked in that particular lighting. But in a way, Mya' was quite satisfied with her sponsored ward. She reminded her of her sister Quavy' in the sense that she was as stylish as the triowinged lavender, and it was almost like she'd never left home.
All I need is a Ren'-clone, Mya' joked to herself, with the bitter sense in the back of her mind that she'd regret saying that.
There was another side to little Jos-see beneath what one would normally see. Spending enough time around the swiftly-growing hatchling revealed a streak of spitefulness about her; it was rather inconspicuous but if someone came along whom she didn't like, Jos-see was quick to get that evil glint in her eye that meant she wanted to see them suffer. She had a way with words, words that bit into the attacked and hurt as much as the nip Mya' had received on the hatching day.
Fortunately for those around her, Jos-see tended not to be spiteful unless she was in a bad mood. Then, Mya' always said, you'd better run, because if you're in the wrong place, you're screwed.
It had already been a few days since the hatching, but Mya' decided she'd stay at Star City (she'd managed to find temporary quarters to reside in until Jos-see grew) for the time being. She had needed a change of pace anyway... but with Jos-see on hand, it wasn't likely that she'd get the break that she'd had in mind.
"Mya', it's no wonder your brothers never notice you. You look horrendously pale in this lighting."
Mya' raised one eyebrow. Pardon me?
Jos-see nodded. "You're white as the flourescent lightbulbs."
You are treading on thin ice with my patience, my friend, Mya' said through gritted teeth. I should have known better than to come here...
"Relax, Mya'. I'm just toying with you." Jos-see considered this for a moment, and then continued in her mind-voice. Although, just between you and me, you do look pale under this lighting. I, however, look absolutely gorgeous. Dark colours suit me, don't you think?
I envy your colours, Mya' sighed. But you didn't hear it from me. Understand?
Jos-see smirked. I've always known I was beautiful. You, Mya', will most definitely need some work.
If I wasn't your assigned caretaker, Jos, I would kill you.
Don't hate me because I'm beautiful, she said with a laugh.
Mya' grumbled under her breath at the young one. You're a little brat, Jos, she told her sponsored. But I kinda like that. I have a feeling you and I are going to get along superbly in the next little while.
Wipe that evil grin off your face, Mya', Jos-see said. I do believe that the pupil will surpass the teacher in this case.
Mya' rolled her eyes. Oh, I'm so scared.
Jos-see shot her caretaker a glare in return, sticking her tongue out for a brief second - but that brief second was enough for Mya' to spot from a distance.
The lavender dragoness' eyes narrowed and she grinned. Bring it, missy.
