Personality: Jared is very down-to-earth, like his name suggests - he is laid-back and prefers to be more of a realist. He's simplistic, but he's also very intelligent. Jared is very studious and knows when he needs to have his nose in a book rather than be goofing off. However, this doesn't stop him from being a fun person to be around. Perhaps that's why he and his twin get along so well - the pair are inseparable, unless Lani is going for a walk in the mountains. Jared's greatest fear is heights, seconded only by his fear of drowning. Jared loves to explore underground caves, although he is very cautious when going about this.

Personality: Alohilani is very carefree, loving nothing more than to feel freedom and the wind in her hair. A dreamer at heart, like the child who never truly grew up, she is always off running around or doing something of the sort. She loves being up high in the air, be it on dragonback (she's ridden on her father's dragon before) or atop mountains or hills. She doesn't like being underground - she is very afraid of caves and small, dark spaces. Alohilani also prefers to be called "Lani" although she doesn't mind her full name. As long as she has a breeze on her face, she's the happiest girl alive.

Alohilani and Jared were born looking alike - Avari's little blonde-haired, gray-eyed twins grew up in the delight of their parents, and although their personalities changed widely during their teenage years, the two were still an inseparable pair. Alohilani delighted at every opportunity to ride on dragonback with her father, while Jared shied away from the very thought of it. However, Jared did love to explore in little caverns - and when he couldn't find one, he'd make one himself. Alohilani hated being underground, and hated being in overcrowded or intensely small places. Avari began to call them "Earth and Sky" affectionately, for that was what she saw in her children.

The new nicknames, as it turned out, could have turned out to be more than the twins' mother anticipated.

They were sixteen years of age on the day that they were brought the news. Nothing tragic, but nonetheless, it was of something that would potentially change the twins' lives forever. A clutch of hybrid conjoined dragons had been born at a place called the Abstract Destiny - definitely not an average earthbound dragonry - but nonetheless, their father's dragon had found a potential perfect match for them.

So it was that Alohilani and Jared were "shipped" off to the Abstract Destiny. Jared became ill the moment they reached the spaceship - he retired to an available room as quickly as he could, his inescapable fear of heights taking over his entire being while they floated among the stars. While Alohilani was concerned for her brother's health, she took the liberty to sign their names to the list, in all hopes of bonding.

She only hoped that Jared would overcome his fear of heights enough to move around without her help.
