Soulbond and Dreamwalk
Return to Azirahael's Stats * (( Some excerpted from Hatching 06, written by Phe! )) The first thing Azirahael noticed when he walked into the Hatching Bay that day was that he wasn't the only other Supernal dragon to be attending the Hatching. Two others, whom he saw as brothers, were standing there as well - one shifted into human form, the other into lion form. Torshael, the pure white Supernal dragon, was the only one to bond out of the pair. Azirahael observed this with great interest, even as the rest of the foals were bonding. Some soul-bonded through a bite to the hand, others bonded as their Old World genetics allowed them to. And then, just as another foal had bonded, it was his and his charge's turn. Two foals, a colt and a filly, headed the way of the other Supernal standing on the moss, who stood alongside his younger, non-Supernal charge. The colt was a pale blue color, while the filly was white. The colt went straight for Azirahael, tossing his sea-green mane. "My name's Soukai'Shishi!" he exclaimed, after taking a nip of the Supernal's paw. "And I'm Seika'Kajitsu," added the filly, though she had not chosen to bite R'zaliaaw's hand. "We wanna go traveling, too!" grinned Soukai. "Sounds fun!" agreed Seika. R'zaliaaw noticed his bond's grace and beauty long before she came to him, and he was still a little dumbfounded by it as he left. Both foals trotted along beside their bonds. Azirahael was a human now, examining the thin trickle of blood that Soukai's teeth had drawn from his hand. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" the foal asked. "I didn't mean to. But I had to! Otherwise I couldn't bond you!" "No, it's quite all right, Soukai." Azirahael smiled kindly at him. "I understand the need. I had expected it for at least one of us." "I'm glad it wasn't me," R'zaliaaw laughed jokingly. "I suppose that's what you get when you give teeth to dragons." "Teeth are fun!" Seika'Kajitsu exclaimed. "I like them!" R'zaliaaw laughed. "Don't be biting anything with them, Seika! Especially me!" "I need to bite, silly! Otherwise, I can't eat any food!" Azirahael and R'zaliaaw both agreed that it was a match made in heaven. Because the young foals were too young for travel home, the quartet returned to Star City, in which they found a temporary home in the New Dragoner Housing. All four agreed that they would return to Starburst as soon as they could, perhaps after looking into the cyborware facility. There was much happiness radiating from each one of the newly bonded that evening, even as they drifted off to sleep. "G'night, R'zaliaaw!" Seika piped up just before her bond closed his eyes. "See you tonight!" "You mean in the morning!" he corrected her. "No, tonight! I can Dreamwalk, R'zaliaaw! I can go into your dreams if I wanna!" "Wow," he said. "I never knew that. How do you do that?" "Go to sleep!" she urged him. "You'll see! And then we can play all night long and all day tomorrow, too!" R'zaliaaw grinned. "Sure! See you soon!" And then he was asleep. Azirahael lingered awake for a while, watching young Soukai rest, his chest rising and falling with his breath. Azirahael also noticed that the bite-marks in his hands had completely vanished. Soukai had told him something about an Aura of Healing that he had. Could it be that the aura had healed him? Continuing to watch Soukai in his slumber, he heard Seika giggle, and then disappear from sight. She was Dreamwalking, just as she'd told R'zaliaaw she would. Quickly, R'zaliaaw's legs twitched as if he was running... running in a dream, a joyful dream with his exuberant bond. Finally, Azirahael became the one to fall asleep, his crimson mane falling over his eyes as he reclined. Peace was his at last. * Background from AAA Backgrounds. |
